However, I am talking about the startup speed of the program. I am not talking about the unpacking speed, which depends on your CPU processing power and the type of the archive. I like about the program the fact that it's fast. The support for these file types is good and if the archive is not corrupt, you can get the right output. You can unpack file types like ZIP, RAR, 7-ZIP, or StuffIt archives, as well as MacBinary files, etc. The program has a wide support for various compressed types. Since they are both free, you may use both applications. This is a strong alternative to the StuffIt Expander, rather than an alternative for BOMArchiveHelper as the producer states. 2031 votes WinRAR 6.00 for Mac OS WinRAR is a powerful archive manager. Software similar to The Unarchiver for Mac 8. But it doesn't show up as an application next to the Blue Apple in the upper left hand corner of the page. But whenever I double-click on the Unarchiver, that's in the Application's Folder, it opens up as a Preferences Window. When I double-clicked it and it's icon was placed in the Applications Folder.
